Stephen Lynn Hamilton, 38 was called home to his Lord in the early morning hours of Saturday, March 25th, 2017. He passed away at his parents’ home in Lewistown from diabetes complications. Stephen was born June 14, 1978 in Lewistown, the son of Neil and Jolynn (Sudbrock) Hamilton. He attended Highland Park Elementary and graduated from Fergus High School in 1997. Stephen loved the outdoors and joined his father on countless hunting, fishing, and camping trips. Going fishing with his dad was still his favorite pastime.
Stephen was an exciting person that was always ready for an adventure. He had many talents that included playing the piano, artwork, cooking, gardening, and was a self-taught computer whiz. As a top sales rep in the mattress industry, he spent several years traveling and lived in St. Louis, MO, Tucson & Phoenix, AZ, Tallahassee & Jacksonville FL, Cherry Hill, NJ, Philadelphia, PA, Richmond, VA, and Dallas TX.
Stephen’s winning personality and compassionate nature helped him connect with children, animals, and people from all walks of life. He had an unbreakable bond with his sister Stephanie, who was his best friend and confidante. A very happy time in his life was when he became the proud uncle of his nephew “Rekky.” Stephen was his grandmother’s special grandson and friend. They spent many hours visiting, laughing, creating art, and watching movies together. He adored his mother and never missed an opportunity to tell her how much he loved and appreciated her.
Above all, he loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Stephen is survived by his parents, Neil & Jolynn Hamilton of Lewistown, MT; sister Stephanie (Derek) Cataraha and nephew Derek Neil Cataraha of Tustin, CA; maternal grandmother Erna Lou Sudbrock of Lewistown, MT; special great uncle and aunt Lynn & Grace Finn of Lake Havasu City, AZ, uncle and aunt Colie & Sandy Hamilton of Billings, MT; several aunts, uncles, cousins, and many dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his beloved and faithful dogs Bailey and Fritz.
Stephen will be remembered by his family for his loving, helpful, and outgoing personality. He was our “Ray of Sunshine” and will be missed dearly.
