Carol Sue Ehlert

Carol Sue Ehlert, 65, of Winifred, passed away on April 1, 2024, at the Central Montana Medical Center after a 7-year battle with cancer, while surrounded by her loving family. She was born on June 1, 1958, to her parents John and Freeda Carlstrom in Lewistown, Montana. 

Carol spent many years bartending at the local tavern. Through this, she was able to meet and spend time with many of her favorite people who often stopped in just to visit with her. Carol also had a great love for the game of pool. She was a member of the Eagles Club for many years and enjoyed teaching her daughter, Britney, to play. Any chance Carol had she would head for the river and enjoy the peace and quiet of the outdoors with a cold beer and campfire food. 

Carol was known to always be taking care of others, leading to the nickname “Mama Carol.” She loved to cook and share her food with family and friends. She was always trying new recipes and looking for her new favorite recipe. 

In recent years, she enjoyed spending time with her granddaughter Millie. She would spend hours each night watching movies, playing, and reading books with Millie. 

Carol is survived by her husband of 42 years Alan Ehlert of Winifred, daughters Britney Ehlert-Haynie (Spanky) of Winifred, Kelsey Ehlert-Sharp (Zachary) of Winifred, mother Freeda Terry of Winfred, brothers Jack Carlstrom (Conny) of Winifred and Keith Carlstrom (KT) of Winifred, and granddaughter Amilliea “Millie” Sharp. And all of her many nieces and nephews. 

Carol is preceded in death by her father John Carlstrom, and brother Wayne "Red" Carlstrom. 

Funeral services will be on Saturday, April 13, 2024, at 10:00 am at the Winifred High School, 500 Main Street. Pastor Robin Nice Bjella will be officiating. Burial will follow at the Winfred Cemetery. Followed by a lunch at the Winifred High School.
