Vonnie O. Ortgies

Lavonne Olga Ortgies (Vonnie) was born September 22, 1937 in Mandan, ND.   She passed away on October 31^st from injuries suffered from a tragic accident. Vonnie moved to Lewistown in 1967 with her husband Bud and her two young sons. She worked in the grocery business for over 40 years in Lewistown.

Vonnie was active in the Zion Lutheran Church.   She loved God, her family, her many wonderful friends, her pets, and being a part of the Lewistown Community.   She was known for her green thumb and took great pride in her yard & garden.

Many thanks to Pastor Lynn Ogren and the many kind friends that reached out with prayers, food, and flowers when she fell ill toward the end of her life.  

Vonnie is survived by her sons Bret (Shellie) and Derek (Traci) both of Billings; her grandsons Ethan & Layne; her brothers, Robert (Patty), Jimmy (Brenda), Joe, Leroy, Tommy and Raymond all of Bismarck, ND, one sister, Alice of Fargo, ND, sister-in-law Judy and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Barbara Olzweski, her husband Bud, her brother Norman (Judy), and sister-in-law Sally (Joe).

Celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, June 19th, 2021 at 1:30 p.m. in the Zion Lutheran Church, committal will be in the Lewistown City Cemetery.  Cloyd Funeral Home is in-charge of arrangements.
