Thomas William Arthur 84 of Suffolk died Saturday evening, June 26th, 2021 at his home of natural causes. He was born November 12, 1936 in Lewistown the son of James W. and Olive Ruth (Dillon) Arthur. He received his schooling in the Salt Creek School and Fergus High School graduating in 1955.

He then entered the U.S. Navy serving until 1959 when he returned to Montana. He helped his dad on the farm and also worked for other farmers in the Winifred, Suffolk and Salt Creek areas from 1960 to 1969. His Dad convinced him to come back home to the ranch as he needed help due to his poor health. His Dad passed away in 1971 and Tom assisted his mother. On December 26, 1971 he was united in marriage to Carolyn J. Sawyer in Lewistown. They lived on, raised their family and operated the ranch which now their son operates.

Tom was a member of the American Legion Post #16 of Lewistown.

He is survived by his wife Carolyn and son William of Hilger, MT, daughters Wendy (Tom) Barthelmeh of Great Falls, MT, Tara (Neil) Dahlen of Halladay, ND, Patty Arthur of Lewistown and Sarah (Jye) McDowell of Post Falls, ID; sisters Delores Melik of Hilger, MT and Amanda Cecrle of Lewistown; 10 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister Frances Peterson and husband Bob, one brother James and two brothers-in-law.

Private Graveside Services will be held in Central Montana Memorial Gardens with the Cloyd Funeral Home assisting the family.
