Sheila Yvonne Nelson, 79, peacefully passed into the loving arms of her husband and her Lord and Savior on Monday, August 3rd, in Great Falls at Benefis Hospital. Cremation has taken place.
Sheila was born on January 13, 1947, in Bozeman, MT, to Shelby and Rhoda (Ridgeway) Brown. She was the third of four daughters; LaVetta and Virginia, followed by Catherine. Sheila graduated from Bozeman High School in 1965.
Sheila moved from Bozeman to Reno, NV, for a few years and then returned to Montana, settling in Great Falls. While attending a family picnic with her dear friend Ruby on the 4th of July in Moore, she met Gary Nelson.
Sheila married Gary on December 11, 1976, in Moore. Sheila brought her son Matthew and daughter Anna. Gary and Sheila then added Brett, Erin & Raelynn to complete their family.
Sheila held many jobs, but her favorite was being a nurse. Sheila attended Northern Montana College in 1989 and graduated in 1991, 3rd in her class, earning her degree as a Registered Nurse. She worked at Bair Memorial Hospital until her retirement at age 55.
Sheila was the most talented person anyone could ever meet. There wasn't much that she picked up that she couldn't do. For many years, Shelia was a florist at Riverside Floral, then went on to work with her friend Mary at Flowers. Flowers. In her later years, she became a dedicated jewelry maker as well as making flower wreaths in her home.
Sheila is survived by her children Matthew (Lilynea) of Moore, Anna of Musselshell, Brett (Mary) of Laural, Erin (Josh) of Havre, and Raelynn of Lewistown. Along with her grandchildren Ky-Leigh (Tyler), Cheynne (Austin), Caitlin (Will), Parker (Molly), Owen (Tori), Audrey, Kimber, Gage, Caspin, Riley, Koda, Mirabella, and new baby Hazen; great-grandchildren Melody Jo and new baby Johnston; sisters, LaVetta and Catherine (Richard), both of Three Forks.
Sheila is preceded in death by her husband of almost 50 years, Gary; parents Shelby and Rhoda Brown; in-laws, Archie and Alta Nelson; and sister Virginia.
Memorial services will take place on Friday, August 21st, at 11:00 a.m. at Cloyd Funeral Home. Interment will immediately follow at Moore Memorial Cemetery, concluding with fellowship at the Moore Women's Club.
