Shane Ray Wells, 51, of Billings, MT passed away June 10th, 2026 on his way to work. He was born July 7th, 1974, to Jerry and Debi Wells in Lewistown, MT. Shane graduated from Moore high school in 1993. He moved to Colorado after school where he met Karyn Steinert. The couple had two children: Hunter and Phoenix. They eventually moved back to Montana, and in 2015 the couple separated. In 2017, Shane reconnected with Lanora Cantrell, who was a childhood friend. Shane drove truck for Casino Creek Concrete for 18 years. For the last few years, he drove semi for Peck Transport.

In his free time Shane enjoyed hunting, fishing, garage sales, and working on cars and trucks. He also loved to spend time with his grandchildren. Shane and Lanora were true best friends and went everywhere together.

He is preceded in death by his mother, both grandparents, and his stepbrother David Kjersem.

He is survived by his wife, and both children, 2 ½ grandchildren, Bryanna and Esme, Cleo (who will arrive in September). Also surviving are his father Jerry and his dad Mark, and brother Andrew. His stepbrothers Terry Lee, Jeff, and Gregg; stepsister; Julie. Also, many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. The family request that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Montana Pittie Project.
