Robert B. Morrison

Robert Barrett Morrison70 of Roy departed on his final tour Thursday, August 31st, 2017, at the Central Montana Medical Center in Lewistown of natural causes.  He was born April 26, 1947 in Ketchikan, AK the son of Ross and Lucy (Pyle) Morrison.  He was born with an innate love of the ocean, the mountains, the skies and everything nautical, Alaskan or Montanan.  Following the death of his father at an early age, his family moved to his mother's native Montana where he attended Dillon schools.  Bob served honorably in the United States Navy for thirteen years, with multiple tours in Vietnam where he received the Bronze Star.  He was a consummate mariner and qualified to wear the Small Craft Insignia.

Following his discharge from the Navy Bob worked as a truck driver living in Dillon, Missoula and Billings.  Bob found his final refuge living these last 17 years on the Horyna ranch with sister Sherry and brother-in-law Gene near Roy

Bob was a member of the American Legion, a life time member of the National Rifle Association, North American Hunting Club and the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation.

Bob is survived by his children, Amanda (Todd) Kroft and Tyler (Amy) Morrison both of Billings, MT; sisters Sherry (Gene) Horyna of Roy, MT, Kathy (Jim) Isham of Lorena, TX and Karen (Al) Furstnow of Seattle, WA; nieces Jenny (Brad) and Emma Fuller, Patricia (Bill) Zander, and many cousins; friends Gary and Jolene Smith, Jackie and Kyle Grimsrud, Jack Hemsing and the Knerr Families.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his cousin Dale Decker and his faithful border collie, Sport.

Memorial Services for Robert B. Morrison will be held Saturday, September 23rd, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the Cloyd Chapel in Lewistown.  Cremation has taken place and he will be scattered at sea.  The Cloyd Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Friends are asked to make memorials to the Roy Volunteer Fire Department or the Roy Ambulance or the charity of their choice and they may be left at the Cloyd Funeral Home.  Condolences for the family may be posted online at www.cloydfuneralhome.com.
