Richard Dale Chamberlin 80 of Harlowton passed away Saturday, September 18th, 2021 in the Central Montana Medical Center in Lewistown of natural causes. He was born on June 19th, 1941 in Newton Kansas the son of Donald O. and Erma (Richardson) Chamberlin. The family moved to Harlowton and he began his schooling there. He entered the United States Navy in 1959 and served until 1962, following his honorable discharge he returned to Harlowton and then to California where he worked construction. He moved the next year to Harlowton, then to Idaho and Washington working for the railroad. During his years with the railroad, he earned his Associated Degree. He retired from the railroad in 2001. In 2010 he returned to Montana and was united in marriage to Donna Herman in Las Vegas and they made their home in Billings and then to Harlowton until the time of his death.
Two very important things in Richard’s life, he survived cancer in 2003 and traveled many times to visit his daughters and grandkids.
He is survived by two daughters Marnie Chamberlin of Judith Gap, MT and Melanie Alden of Yucaipa, CA; two sisters Jackie Wilcox of Boise, ID and Arlee Palmer of Billings, MT; two brothers Glenn of Eagan, MN and Doug of Zephyrhills, FL; 4 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife Donna, sisters Donna, Beverly, Bonnie and Terri and his parents.
Cremation has taken place. Graveside service will be Saturday, June 18, 2022 at Harlowton City Cemetery at 1:00 PM. Friends are asked to make memorials to the charity of their choice and they may be left with the Cloyd Funeral Home. Condolences for the family may be posted online at www.cloydfuneralhome.com.
