Raymond Thomas Breeding

Raymond Thomas Breeding, 73, of Judith Gap passed away January 9, 2024, at the Wheatland Memorial Hospital in Harlowton. He was born June 30, 1950, in Lewistown, MT, to Ralph Breeding Jr. and Frances Huxtable. He married Barbara VanOmmen on September 9, 1967, in Judith Gap, MT. They were blessed with two children, Rebecca Jo & Thomas Ray, as well as 5 grandchildren and 9 great children.

Ray and Barb moved to Helena, where Ray attended Helena VoTech. He went on to be very successful working for the phone company. Ray and Barb raised their family in Helena and later moved for Ray's work to Pasco, Washington and Parker, Colorado. When Ray retired from Lucent Technologies, he and Barb returned to Judith Gap.

Ray enjoyed many outdoor hobbies. He loved camping, hunting, fishing, boating, skiing, and 4-wheeling. He also enjoyed traveling with Barb all over the U.S. as well as Canada and Europe.

Left to celebrate his life are the love his life, his wife of 56 years, Barb Breeding of Judith Gap, daughter Rebecca Spellman (Burke) of San Antonio, TX., son Thomas Breeding (Danette) of Seabeck WA., brothers James Brown, Mark Breeding, KC Breeding, & Kenneth Brown, grandchildren Desarae Gorda (Josh), Dakota Spellman (Brianna), Shea Spellman, Kayla Crow (Job), Hunter Breeding, great-grandchildren Shaylyn Gorda, Gavin Helgeson, Josalen Helgeson, Caliann Helgeson, Claire Spellman, Amelia Spellman, Lainey Crow, Colton Crow, Juliet Crow, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his father Ralph Breeding, his mother Frances Brown, his sister Diane Hester, and his father and mother-in-law, Paul & Leona VanOmmen.

Visitation will be Friday, January 19, 2024, from 2:00-6:00 p.m. at the Judith Gap Methodist Church. A Celebration of Raymond's life will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2024, at 12:00 p.m., also at the Judith Gap Methodist Church. Pastor Emma Bridgeman will be officiating. Burial will follow at the Judith Gap Cemetery.
