Marlene J. Mccamey

July 6, 1943 — November 11, 2021

Marlene J. McCamey, 78, passed away on November 11, 2021, at Roundup Memorial Hospital. Marlene was born July 6, 1943, to Leonard and Leona (Hoff) Sandvig. Her father worked as a track layer for the Milwaukee Railroad, so the family lived in a boxcar on the train and moved around a lot until they settled in Roundup in the mid-1930s. Marlene attended school in Roundup, where she met her husband, Jerry McCamey. Marlene and Jerry gave birth to four children; Gary, Jay, Melody, and Brad. Marlene and Jerry later divorced.

Marlene was an excellent cook and baker, spending many years working at the IGA. Some of her family's favorites included her maple long johns, apple fritters, pumpkin cookies, and ferragosa bread. When you drive by the IGA now, you will see "The Best Donuts in Town". Marlene most certainly set this standard.

Marlene loved her family and enjoyed attending many concerts, plays, and events her grandchildren took part in. She was so proud of her family and took every opportunity to brag about all of the wonderful things they were doing. Her grandkids often argue about who her favorite is, which is a testament to how much love she showed every one of them.

Marlene was a life-long member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church. She attended every week and loved attending services with her children and grandchildren. John and Pat Iverson's influence on the church and on Marlene's life will forever be remembered.

Marlene was preceded in death by her parents Leonard and Leona; her brothers, Charles "Tiny", Dwaine, Curtis, and Robert "Bob"; her sisters, Eyvonne and Kathy; and her sons Gary and Brad.

Marlene is survived by her daughter, Melody (Jake) Kramlich of Winnett, her son Jay (Laura) McCamey of Roundup; brothers Jerry Sandvig of Arizona, James "J.D." of Wyoming; sisters Twyla of California, Arla Mae of Billings, and Delila of Texas; and grandchildren Jesse Moore (Becca Rel) of Billings, Lacee (Jeff) Stricker of Billings, Jillian (James) McCamey of Roundup, Mason McCamey of Roundup, Taylor Fisher of Florida, Jessica (Mikael) Wills of Roundup, and Tanner Dodds of California. She also has five great-grandchildren and two great-children on the way. She is also loved by many nieces and nephews.

There are no planned services at this time. If you wish to donate in remembrance of Marlene, please send funds to the Emmanuel Baptist Church, 602 Main St, Roundup, MT 59072. Condolences for the family may be posted online at www.cloydfuneralhome.com.
