Marguerite Richard

October 24, 1946 — July 15, 2020

Marguerite (Meg) Richard 73 passed away peacefully on July 15th, 2020 at her home in Lewistown Montana of natural causes. She was born on October 24th, 1946 in Winthrop Massachusetts the daughter of Tom and Pat (Devereux) Perrault. She lived in various towns throughout New England. She met and married Ray Richard and together had two sons: Chris and Terry. After separating from her husband, Meg devoted herself to raising "her two boys" to be strong, self-sufficient individuals. During this time, she worked multiple jobs while putting herself through college, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of New Hampshire.

In the summer of 1989, she relocated to Montana to be closer to her sisters, Pat and Melissa. For a time, she lived in Billings, before moving to Idaho where she ran the kitchen at the Boise Bible College for nearly a decade. Meg then moved to Colorado to be closer to her granddaughter and lived there for several years. She moved back to Montana and settled in Lewistown to be near her sister Melissa and worked at Albertsons for several years.

Meg was an extraordinary self-taught baker, cook and crafter. She loved sharing her skills with everyone and taught many different classes ranging from baking to basket weaving. Meg was an avid reader and was always looking to learn and master something new. By her own measure, her greatest achievement was "her two boys".

Meg's life is celebrated by many friends and family. Her sons, Chris (Leslie) and Terry (Julie); granddaughter Sydnee, her "adopted" daughter Holly, sisters Melissa and Jinny (John) and their children as well as many nieces and nephews. She made room in her heart for so many people, you all know who you are.

A Memorial Service for Meg will be held on Thursday, July 23rd, 2020 at 3:00 p.m. in the First Presbyterian Church. Cremation has taken place. Committal will take place at a later date in Central Montana Memorial Gardens in Lewistown. The Cloyd Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Friends are asked to make memorials to the American Cancer Society or the charity of their choice and memorials may be left with the Cloyd Funeral Home. Condolences for the family may be posted online at www.cloydfuneralhome.com.
