Larry A. Yaeger

June 10, 1939 — April 9, 2017

Larry Anton Yaeger, 77, of Lewistown passed away at home on April 9, 2017, in the early morning hours with his family by his side. He was born on June 10, 1939, in Lewistown to Charles Frank and Ester Judith (King) Yaeger, Sr. He was raised on the Yaeger Ranch at Glengarry. He attended grade school at Glengarry School through 8th grade. He then went to Fergus High School, graduating in 1957. He attended MSU in Bozeman and returned home to help on the ranch at Armells. He met the love of his life in 1960, Betty Pallett, and were united in marriage on May 26, 1962 in Lewistown. They lived in Lewistown for a short while then moved to the Yaeger Ranch at Hilger to begin their new life together. They had three children the oldest Ronnie, Brenda followed two years later, and then completed the family with their youngest, Bradley.

Larry was a big-time family man. He took pride in his kids, grandkids, and great grandkids. He loved going to all the sporting events. He and Betty were wonderful Jitterbug dancers, clearing the dance floor many times. Their love for each other was a special bond of 54 years.

Larry survived a brain aneurism in 1993 and always thought every day after was a gift from God. He was a FFA state officer, a member of the Order of Demolay, Demolay Dad, Marie Chapter No. 36 Order of Eastern Star, Past Master of Friendship Lodge No. 139, Montana Army National Guard, Central Montana Shrine Club, Eagles Lodge, Moose Lodge, Fergus Post #16 American Legion, Senior Pool League, Farm Bureau, and Hilger Community Club. He has many lasting friends from all the clubs he belonged to.

During his final week of life, Larry’s son, Brad, got his old 1931 Chevy Coupe going and took Larry for his last ride around the block. The smile on his face showed that this memory was a dream come true for Dad.

Larry is survived by his wife of 54 years , Betty, son Ronnie Yaeger both of Lewistown and children Tia (fiancé Todd), Tre Yaeger; daughter Brenda (Bart) Wilson of Hilger and children Tyler, Thomas (Kalyn, great-grandchild Ava) Jessie (fiancé Brendon, great-grandchildren Elise and Rylee), Austin Wilson;son Brad (Tina) Yaeger of Lewistown, Amber, Alyssa (Dylan), and Kylee Yaeger; brothers Charles (Rosie) Yaeger of Hilger and James Yaeger of Lewistown, brother-in-law Donald (Donna) Pallett in Idaho, sister-in-law Marcy (Ken) Dirkson and several wonderful nieces and nephews.

He was proceeded in death by his parents, father and mother-in-law William and Doris Pallett, son-in-law Nick Wilson, nephew Dean Pallett, niece Cynthia Yaeger, and nephew Chuckie Yaeger.

Memorial Services for Larry A. Yaeger will be Thursday, April 13th, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. in the Cloyd Chapel, cremation has taken place. The Cloyd Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Friends are asked to make memorials to Hospice of Central Montana, Central Montana Shrine Transportation Trust or the charity of their choice and they may be left at the Cloyd Funeral Home.
