Judith L. Huck, 74, passed away Tuesday evening, June 16, 2026, at Roundup Memorial Hospital in Roundup, Montana, with her husband by her side.
Judy was born on January 1, 1952, in Charleston, West Virginia, the daughter of Milton S. Duling Jr. and Florence E. (Smith) Duling. She enjoyed a wonderful childhood in West Virginia and graduated from Nitro High School in 1969. After graduation, she followed her parents to Colorado, where she attended beauty school and worked as a hairstylist.
While working at a salon, a friend arranged a blind date that led her to meet the love of her life, Allen. Judy and Allen shared 52 years of marriage and built a life together in the mountains of Colorado, where they proudly raised their three daughters.
Throughout her years in Gilpin County, Judy held a variety of roles and was a familiar face in the community. She served as Director of the Columbine Health Clinic, helped with the family candy store and jail exhibit, worked as a cashier at several local casinos, and spent some of her final working years employed by Chris and Hillary Kysar. Through each position, Judy brought her warmth, dedication, and strong work ethic, leaving a lasting impression on those who knew her.
Judy devoted her life to her girls, and their interests quickly became her own. When her daughters joined the Westernairs, Judy became part of the harness team and learned to drive horses and mules. As the girls grew older and became involved in sports, Judy went to work as a bus driver for the Gilpin County School District, allowing her to attend every game and sporting event. When their love of horses led them into high school rodeo, Judy became a rodeo secretary and enthusiastically supported their pursuits.
After raising her daughters, Judy embraced one of her favorite roles-being a grandmother. In 1999, she became "G-ma," a title she wore proudly. She loved talking about her grandchildren to anyone who would listen and took great joy in watching them participate in sports, ride horses, showing cattle, and pursue their own interests. Earlier this year, Judy welcomed her first great-grandson. Meeting him was the highlight of her year.
Colorado was the place Judy called home, but the high elevation and harsh winters eventually became difficult for her and Allen. In 2023, they relocated to Lindale, Texas, to be closer to their daughter, Christy.
Judy was a deeply family-oriented person who treasured time spent with loved ones. In her spare time, she enjoyed playing bingo, visiting casinos, and socializing with friends. Judy never met a stranger and had a remarkable gift for conversation. Her warm personality and friendly spirit left a lasting impression on everyone she met.
She is survived by her loving husband, Allen; her daughters, Christy (Steve) Siegrist of Lindale, Texas, Brenda (Jason) Serrano of Roundup, Montana, and Diane (John) Stundon of Roundup, Montana; her brother, Larry Duling of San Antonio, Texas; five grandchildren, Justin Stundon, Clayton Siegrist, Mackenzie Serrano, Haley Stundon, and Sheldon Serrano: one great-grandchild Travis Siegrist. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents and her granddaughter, Brianna Jo Siegrist.
The family will have. Celebration of Life at a later date. Cremation has taken place, and Cloyd Funeral Home of Lewistown, Montana is assisting the family with arrangements.
