John D. Eide

John Douglas Eide, Jr., 59, of Lewistown, passed away on Thursday, July 31, 2025, at Central Montana Medical Center. He was born on July 11, 1966, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to his parents, John and Norma Jean (Louwsma) Eide.

John grew up in Texas and Iowa. John was truly a “Jack of all trades,” picking up skills and knowledge wherever he was. He met the love of his life, Bethany Pein. They were married on April 17, 1996, in Iowa Falls, Iowa. They both shared a desire to help children and became Foster Parents. John’s ability to help children was remarkable. His heart had no limits.

For many years, John was also a self-employed contractor in Lewistown. After retiring, he focused on his family, especially caring for his children, and teaching them life skills. He loved working with his hands and always had some vehicle or project he was working on. As an enthusiast of all motor sports, John loved riding 4-wheelers and dirt bikes with his family in the mountains; this brought him great joy. He was also an avid fisherman and would go whenever he had the chance.

John’s huge heart and the positive way he impacted so many lives will always be missed, but memories of time spent with him will be forever cherished.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

John is survived by his wife of 29 years, Bethany Eide, his brothers, Dennis Eide and James Eide, his children, Natalie Eide, John Eide, Matthew Eide, William Eide, Logan Eide, Lisa Eide, and Latoya Irvine.

To honor John’s memory, please donate children’s clothes or toys. The items can be brought to the Fergus County CFSD office (312 Birch Street, Suite 1) to aid children involved in the foster care system.
