Jeffrey M. Mccarty

August 13, 1960 — January 26, 2017

Jeffrey Michael McCarty 56, of Moore, was born August 13, 1960 to Ledford and Jean McCarty in Frost, West Virginia.  He grew up amidst a large family or siblings, cousins, and friends in the hills of West Virginia. He moved to Montana to work at the Spotted Horse Mine, where Butz Glidewell introduced him to his future wife Peggy Jimmerson.  Peggy and Jeff returned to West Virginia to start a family and also start McCarty Trucking.  They eventually returned to Montana where Jeff again found himself in the middle of a large group of family and friends.  Jeff was a very hard and honest worker and did what he loved everyday.  He was not a social butterfly, but he did love telling stories about all the adventures and experiences he had.  He loved camping, fishing, reading, gardening, watching westerns, and spending time with his family.  He also loved to impress his family with a pan of his special candy every Christmas.  But, if Jeff had a choice, he would rather be logging.  He passed away January 26, 2017 at home surrounded by family.

Jeff was preceded in death by his parents, Ledford and Jean McCarty, his father-in-law, Murray Jimmerson, and his brothers Phillip and Bob McCarty.

He is survived by his wife of 34 years`, Peggy McCarty, his five children, Levi, Colter (Abigail), Dylan, Molly (Brian), and Brette (Michael), and his three grandsons, Ledford, Hendriks, and Letcher.  He is also survived by his three siblings, Nancy (Donnie), Bill, and Mary Kay.
