Jane Dygert, 71, passed away peacefully on August 19, 2026, at her home in Havre Montana, surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle of cancer.

Jane was born May 25, 1955, in Lewistown, Montana, to Leta and Dearl Zirschky and was delivered by Dr. Paul Gans. She grew up in Moccasin, Montana, as one of ten children, surrounded by the brothers and sisters who helped shape so many of her early memories.

In 1976, Jane married in Las Vegas, Nevada. From that marriage, she was blessed with two children, Gregory Lee and Amanda. Over the years, Jane called several places home, including Colorado and Great Falls, but Lewistown was where she eventually built her life. Around 1988, Jane met the love of her life, Dennis Dygert, "Avon Man." With Dennis came three more children for Jane to love as her own: Sarah, Terri, and Mike. In 1990, Jane and Dennis welcomed their son, Darek, completing their family of six children. After many years together, Jane and Dennis were married on January 8, 2000. When Dennis retired, they moved to Christina, Montana, where they enjoyed the next chapter of their lives together. After losing Dennis and facing health challenges of her own, Jane moved to Havre to be with her son Greg and his family, where she spent the remainder of her days.

Jane lived a fun and adventurous life. She enjoyed cooking, being outdoors, and, most of all, spending time with the people she loved. During the last couple of years of her life, Jane made it a priority to spend as much time as she could with her family. She traveled, enjoyed new adventures, and made the very best of every opportunity, creating memories with those she loved that will be treasured forever. Family was at the center of Jane's life, and the memories made with her children, grandchildren, siblings, and those she loved will continue to be cherished for generations.

Jane was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dennis Dygert; her parents, Leta and Dearl Zirschky; her brothers, Bob Eckhardt and Ken Zirschky; and her sister, Mary Westburg.

She is survived by her six children: Sarah (Tim) Browning, Terri Dygert, Greg (Candace) Mestes, Mike (Brandi) Dygert, Amanda (Josh) Aamold, and Darek (Melissa) Dygert; 20 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Joan (Guy) Eckhardt Driver and Dearlene Zirschky Hodik; and her brothers, Dale (Melanie) Eckhardt and Zane Zirschky, Jon (Denise) Eckhardt, along with her extended family and many others whose lives were touched by Jane.

Jane's life was filled with family, adventure, laughter, and love. Though she will be deeply missed, the stories she told, the meals she shared, the memories she created, and the love she gave will live on through everyone fortunate enough to have known her.
