James Wesley Rich

James Wesley Rich, 72, of Lewistown passed away August 20, 2023 at his residence. He was born March 31, 1951 to his parents Jack & Hazel Rich in Lewistown. He was a lifelong Lewistown resident.

Jim graduated from Fergas High School and shortly after that on May 28, 1971 he enlisted in the U.S. Army, serving during Vietnam. He served 3 years, and was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army on May 28, 1974.

Jim was a simple man. He enjoyed fishing and working on vehicles, especially his truck "The Red Baron" as he called it. He loved animals and helping elderly people. Storytelling and gathering trinkets were some of Jim's favorite pastimes.

We would like to extend a special thank you to Jim's friends, Scott H. and Richard M., Officer Cornwall and Phelps and all of the men & women who have served or are currently serving in the United States of America.

Jim is survived by his sisters Judy Wolfe of Billings, Joanne May of Kalispell, Julie (Larry) Van Dyke of Lewistown, brother Charles Rich of Stevensville, MT numerous nieces & nephews and great nieces & nephews, many whom had a special bond with him.

Jim is preceded in death by his parents Jack w. & Hazel P. Rich, brother Jack rich Jr., Jerry Rich, sisters Jackie Bailey & Janice Rich LaFountain.

Graveside services will be Friday, September 8, 2023 at 11:00 am the City Cemetery in Lewistown. Military Honors will provided by the U.S. Army Honor Guard & American Legion Post #16.

Arrangements are under the direction of Cloyd Funeral Home.
