James Francis Homison, 71, passed away on Friday, May 9, 2025, in his home in Stanford, Montana. He was born on October 3, 1953, in Butler, Pennsylvania, the son of James W. and Francis L. (Simpson) Homison, of Gibsonia, PA.
Jim graduated from Montana State University and served in the Forest Service for 20 years. He loved to hunt and fish, and found in Montana a home that suited him well. If you reached him on his cell phone, there was a good chance he'd be sitting by Ackley Lake with his fishing rod in hand and often have to excuse himself to haul in a “Big One.”
Jim had a great laugh, and his sense of humor will be missed!
He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, David L. of Tidioute, PA. He is survived by his brothers, Alan of Gibsonia, PA, and Paul of Valencia, PA, as well as his two nephews, Ezra and Zebediah, one niece, Naomi Hoppel (Adam), and their sons, Oren and Rowan. Arrangements are under the direction of Cloyd Funeral Home. Condolences for the family may be posted online at www.cloydfuneralhome.com
