Early in the 1980s, she became a Deputy Clerk of Court, a few years later she was elected as Clerk of Court, and she held that position for 12 years. Greta was also a long-time member of the Marie Chapter of Eastern Star. Upon retirement, Ken and Greta moved to their ranch near Judith Gap, where they lived until 2012, when Ken entered the nursing home. They enjoyed a total of 57 wonderful years together until James passed away in 2015. Greta moved to Billings after her husband's death and then to Harlowton in December 2025.
