Gene L. Hutchinson 83 of Lewistown formerly of Hobson died Saturday, morning November 2nd, 2024 in the Central Montana Medical Center of natural causes. He was born September 18, 1941 in Oregon City, OR the son of Floyd L. and Elizabeth (Rutter) Hutchinson. He was raised on a Dairy Farm owned and operated by his parents in Molalla, OR. He attended and graduated from Molalla Union High School in 1959. He then joined the United States Marine Corps that same year. He was a specialty Teletype Operator and received his scuba training and certificate, receiving his honorable discharge in 1963. He moved to Montana in the late 1960s and worked for Stevenson Angus Ranch in Hobson until his retirement in 2020.
He was a member of American Legion Post #70 of Hobson.
He is survived by his companion/soulmate M. Lorraine Barkhoff of Lewistown, MT his children Tammy (Perry, Jr.) Maddox of Fairfield, MT and Ed Hutchinson of Great Falls, MT; two brothers Sam (Sandy) and Harry (Cathy) both in Oregon and two sisters Helen Reasoner in Washington and Jenny Siebold in Canada; 4 grandchildren Austin, Mariah, Cheyenne and Shelby; five great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Gene was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers-in-law and ex-wife Sharon.
Funeral Services for Gene L. Hutchinson will be Tuesday, November 12th, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. in the Cloyd Chapel with committal to follow in the Lewistown City Cemetery. The Cloyd Funeral Home is assisting the family.
