December 17th, 2023, brought the peaceful passing of 93-year-old Frieda Mae Wiedenman, born December 24, 1929. The sun shined bright for her that day, ushering her peacefully to heaven on the day of our lord.
Frieda was a woman of pink roses, manicured nails, and collectible spoons. While her taste might have been for finer things, she came from values of hard work and family first.
It was with this mindset that she moved from Pueblo, Colorado to Twin Falls, ID. In 1944, at the age of 14, she helped her dad build a house out of scrap pallets and reused nails. There, she met the man who quickly became her husband, Lloyd Wiedenman. Together they started their family of three sons, Lloyd Jr., Chris, and Edward. With a new career opportunity, the family moved to Big Sky County. First to Phillipsburg, MT, and then, in 1960, they transferred to Kalispell, MT. Finally, in 1972, they settled in Lewistown, where Frieda spent most of her life. There she grew a community, a family, and countless flowers.
As her sons grew older, Frieda became a grandmother to Lloyd Jr's children, Alon, Lara, and Landon; Chris's children Shandra and Priscilla; and Edward's children, Lara, Kathryn, Eric, Greg, Tara, and Haley. All of whom she helped she helped raise in some way, as she was (as named before), a "family first" kind of woman.
Frieda was loved by all and known as a kind and resilient woman, never asking for anything, or complaining. If you were to ask her, she never experienced any big pain or hardship. She was a tough cookie.
Not one to wear her heart on her sleeve, Frieda signed cards with her signature "Love Ya." She didn't need what she might have called "fluff, her love was felt. If I were to guess, I'd say her number one love language was quality time. And with that, she gave us a lot of love.
Frieda will be remembered for her perfectly pinned hair, playful humor, and the love she shared with her family. When her time came, she carried herself with dignity, strength, and love. She will be missed dearly. We love you, Frieda.
