Eva M. Rich

August 20, 1920 — October 23, 2020

          Eva May Rich, 100, passed away Friday, October 23, 2020 at Benefis Eastview in Great Falls. She was born August 20, 1920 in Great Falls, MT to Michael & Emma (Dalluge) Dailey. Her family moved to Craig, MT in 1925 and then Ronan, MT in 1930. She graduated from Ronan High School and went on to Northwestern Business College in Spokane, WA.

     Eva met the love of her life, Albert Rich, in 1936, and they married on March 19, 1939. Eva along with their two oldest sons followed Albert from Louisiana to California to Nevada to Lewistown, MT. They then settled in Stanford, MT in 1946 where they welcomed another son and a daughter.

     Eva worked as a store clerk at Basin Trading Company and Bill's IGA. She then became a bookkeeper for the GTA elevator until she was forced to retire due to her broken hip. Eva was a charter member of Trinity Lutheran Church and belonged to the VFW Auxillary. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, crocheting for family and friends, jigsaw puzzles, coffee hours with friends, and reading. She will be fondly remembered by all who knew her for her positive outlook on life and smile that could light up a room.

     Eva is survived by her sons Mel (Meg) Rich of St. Helens, OR, Galen (Bonnie) Rich of Butte, MT, and Don (Leslie) Rich of Kalispell, MT and one daughter LaDene (Bill) Raihl of Stanford, MT; a sister-in-law Helen "Patsy" Bermes. 18 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

     Eva was preceded in death by her parents, husband Albert Rich, brother Myron Dailey and daughter-in-law Meg Rich.

     Funeral Services for Eva M. Rich will be held Monday, November 2, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church in Stanford, MT with committal to follow at Lewistown City Cemetery at 1:00 PM in Lewistown, MT. Viewing will be held an hour before the funeral service. No formal reception will be held. The family requests that all in attendance wear masks. The Cloyd Funeral Home is assisting the family.

     Friends are asked to make memorials to the Trinity Lutheran Church or the charity of their choice, and they may be left with the Cloyd Funeral Home. Condolences for the family may be posted online at www.cloydfuneralhome.com.
