Eddy Arnold Awbery 76, of Lewistown, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 27, 2025, at his home, with his wife by his side. Eddy was born June 6, 1949, in Lewistown, the son of George E. and Lillian M. (Hartford) Awbery. He attended school in Lewistown and then moved to Great Falls, where he was part of the first graduating class from C.M. Russell High School. He then entered the U.S. Army, serving 3 years, then served 6 years in the Montana Army National Guard. He worked various jobs, settling in Jordan and working as a bartender in his sister's bar. There he met Penny Johnson, and they were married on October 6, 1974, in Jordan. They moved to Fairfield in the late 1970s, where they owned and operated a bar. In the early 1980s, they moved to Bell Creek, MT and he worked in the Oil Fields. In the late 1980s, they returned to Lewistown, where he worked for Welch Construction and the City of Lewistown until his retirement in the late 2000s. They then moved to Kuna, ID, until returning to Lewistown in 2019.
Eddy loved the outdoors, fishing, camping, hunting, and time with family. He was an artist and enjoyed painting, sculpting, and handcrafting jewelry.
He is survived by his wife, Penny, of Lewistown; daughters, Crystal Belcourt of Kuna, ID; Evelyn Woods of Lewistown; and Pam McVicker of Kalispell, MT; brother, David Awbery, of Shepherd, MT; sister, Evelyn Miller, of Mesa, AZ; 10 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers John, James and Jake, one sister Margaret and one grandson Jerid.
Celebration of Life for Eddy Awbery will be Saturday, January 3rd, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. in the Calvert Hotel. Cremation has taken place with the Cloyd Funeral Home assisting the family.
