Dennis D. Manley 69 of Winnett passed away at his home of natural causes Thursday afternoon, September 26, 2019, after dealing with various illnesses for 5 years. He was born November 19, 1949 in Willmar MN the son of Vernon L. and Ella (Ruter) Manley, Sr. He attended school in Minnesota graduating from Raymond High School. He then worked for Iron Range of Minnesota and Erie Mining operating the largest prototype mining equipment in the world. He later moved back to Willmar and began his custom farming business as well as bought, renovated and sold numerous farm steads. In 1967 he was united in marriage to Judy Lane, they later divorced.
The family moved to Lewistown in 1978 and he opened Cinderella Shoes on Main Street, outselling all other shoe stores in Montana. He later sold Cinderella Shoes and bought the original Taco Time, which he and his children operated for 16 years, selling it in 1999. On April 28th, 1990 he was united in marriage to Denise Lidback in Mesa, AZ. In 1995 they began a mobile laboratory traveling the country; they worked as a team with Dennis providing the business expertise and Denise the technical expertise. They continued for 15 successful years until they retired in 2009 to their home in Winnett. There he pursued his hobby of ever improving his home and property. He took great satisfaction in his beautiful gardens, growing a myriad of vegetables with a later emphasis on tomatoes.
Dennis was full of new ideas which he was always sharing with others. He was adventurous with a love for the outdoors which he taught and instilled in his children. He loved his family more than life itself and he will be missed.
He is survived by his wife Denise of Winnett; son Jason of Big Sky; daughters Kristine Manley and Kimberly (Rick) Miller both of Lewistown and Shannon (David) Biegel of Harlowton, MT; one brother Vernon (Sharon) of Watertown, SD; one sister Connie (David) Niemeyer of Willmar, MN; 8 grandchildren C.J. Lee, Cody Lee, Casey Lee, Brant Manley, McKenzie Manley, Megan Manley, Sydney Rapkoch and Eva Rapkoch; 3 great grandchildren Blake, Cash and Sarah and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Graveside Services for Dennis D. Manley will be Monday, September 30, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. in Mount Calvary Cemetery. The Cloyd Funeral Home is assisting the family.
