Darrel W Wittgow

Darrel Warren Wittgow passed away at the Central Montana Medical Center on March 15, 2022 of a heart attack. He was born on August 18, 1947 in Norfolk, NE to Lucille (Lehmann) and Warren Wittgow. At age two, Darrel with his family moved to Montana. They settled in Coffee Creek where Warren was employed at the General Mills elevator. When that elevator burned the family moved to Benchland. In 1957 the family moved to Lewistown. Darrel graduated from Fergus County High School in 1966. He then attended Weaver Personnel School in Kansas City. He then worked for Northwest Airlines in Seattle.

Darrel and Charlotte Eichhorn were married on April 15, 1987 in Lewistown. To that marriage Jacob Wittgow was born on April 8, 1988. They later divorced.



Darrel worked for motorcycle shops in Lewistown and enjoyed small engine repair. He later worked for and retired from the State of Montana.



Darrel co-owned land in the Judith Mountains and enjoyed his cabin and spending time there.



He is preceded in death by his parents, Lucille and Warren Wittgow, and his infant brother Percy in 1955.



He is survived by his son, Jacob (Kelsey) of Dickinson, ND, older sister, Charlotte Wilmerton of Missoula, twin sister Darlene (Ernie) Kolar of Lewistown and younger brother Larry (Karen) of Selah, WA, one uncle, Bernard Lehmann of Lewistown and several nieces and nephews.



The family plans on having a private service in the summer with Cloyd Funeral Home assisting the family. Cremation has taken place. Friends are asked to make memorials to the charity of their choice and they may be left with the Cloyd Funeral Home.
