Christine L. Pratt

January 13, 1945 — December 3, 2023

Hope, peace, transformation, and new beginnings are the blessings bestowed upon her family by Christine L. Pratt, when she peacefully passed away in her sleep on Sunday, December 3rd, 2023. In August 2023, cancer was the diagnosis.

Born on January 13th, 1945, in Los Angeles, California, to John and Ruby Lowe, Chris attended parochial schools in southern California, before going to Santa Clara University. To further her education, she spent a year in Rome, Italy as an exchange student. After graduating from college, she worked as a research assistant in the psychology laboratory at the Denver Veterans Administration on Hospital in Denver, Colorado where she met her husband to be, Peter Pratt. On March 14th, 1970, they were married in Newport Beach, California. For a year, Denver was home until her husband earned his degree and became an assistant professor of psychology at the University of Guam. In Guam, Chris had two children, Peter, and Amy.

After living in Guam and traveling in Asia and throughout the Pacific Islands, Chris was ready to settle down. Thankfully, Pete became a school psychologist in Lewistown, Montana in 1974. There she had three more children: Ben, Abby, and Chrissy. Chris loved the winters and became an enthusiastic alpine skier, cross-country skier, and learned to ice skate. She played softball and volleyball, coached some of her daughter's teams, and pursued her lifelong love of horses and animals. She became adept at racket ball and traveled around the state to compete in tournaments. Meanwhile, she and a friend opened the Community Fitness Center in the mid 1980's. It included water aerobics classes that Chris taught. When indoor pools were no longer available for classes, she continued to meet with her loyal participant friends for coffee the first Monday of each month. As Chris became involved with her alpaca business, she developed many skills that included spinning and weaving the fiber into beautiful, personalized gifts she shared with friends and family.

Chris loved paddling a canoe or kayak, skiing a back country slope, floating a river, riding a horse, hiking a wilderness trail, or camping in the out-back. Her family was number one and that included the animals. She is survived by her husband, five children, grandson, Noah Pratt, and sisters Terry Hall and Kathy Lowe.

A Celebration of Chris's Life will be Wednesday, December 13, 2023, at 5:00 pm at the Lewistown Art Center 323 W. Main Street Lewistown.
