Barbara J. Phillips

Barbara Jean (Sanford) Phillips, 74, of Lewistown died Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at the Central Montana Hospice House with her family by her side. She was born May 28, 1942 in Lewistown, MT to John and Claudia (Jackson) Brooks. They lived near Christina and she attended Balky Horse School until her junior high years where she attended school in Winifred. In 1960, she graduated from Winifred High School. On September 25, 1960, she was united in marriage to Gary R. Sanford in Lewistown. Gary died in 1974. Barbara later married Charlie Phillips in 1986. Charlie passed away in 2008.   Barb worked for Central Montana Education Center for 24 years.

Barb loved horses and in her younger years was an avid barrel racer. She was loving and dedicated to her family and friends and truly loved the Lewistown community. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Lewistown.

She is survived by two sons: Chris (Lesley) of Molt, MT and Scott (Theresa Chevre) of New Brighton, MN; one brother Jack (Rita) Brooks of Glasgow, MT; six grandchildren, Caiden, Cami, Jacob, Brittney, Lance, Kristy; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband's, Gary and Charlie, she was preceded in death by her parents and infant twins.

Memorial services for Barbara J. (Sanford) Phillips will be Monday, October 10, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at the Cloyd Chapel. Cremation and Inurnment in the Lewistown City Cemetery have already taken place. Cloyd Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements
