Arthur Lee (Chum) Larson 88 passed away peacefully surrounded by his family early Monday morning, April 29th, 2019. Thankfully our lonely, hurting hearts are filled with the warmest memories of a strong, sincere, gentle, proud and loving man that meant the world to us. Art was born September 21, 1930 the son of Carl Arthur and Leona (Blizzard) Larson in Holt, Michigan. They moved to Roy Montana where he attended school and played football and basketball.
On June 9, 1950 he was united in marriage to Violet Elnora Bare in Lewistown and they were inseparable for the next 68 years. Together they had four children, Jim, Connie, Mark and Charlotte. They also raised two nieces, Karen and Carlie and a nephew Fred.
Art worked in many different places in Lewistown, but after going to work at Cooley Chevrolet he became known by most as a Chevy salesman, the very BEST Chevy salesman. He made incredibly loyal friends and customers throughout the years selling cars.
He had a special love for horses, he had many Tennessee Walkers through the years, often riding them in parades. Art loved hunting and fishing with his brother Larry and his boys. He and Vi enjoyed square dancing for Many years. In their later years they spent their winters in Yuma, AZ with their siblings and great friends. There summers were spent back in Lewistown, playing cards with friends, watching grandchildren paly sports and growing amazing cherry tomato plants. Art spent alot of time on woodworking projects also, he could fix almost anything. Art enjoyed playing, singing and making musical instruments.
If the measure of a good life is how missed you will be when you are gone, how admired you were by everyone that knew you, then he could have done no better. He always had a joke or a little song, never failing to bring a smile to anyone in the room.
Arthur is survived by his wife Vi; son Jim (Carla), their children Kevin, Brian and Jamie; daughter Connie (David) Fry and their children Stephanie, Carla and Matt; son Mark (Carmen) daughters Danna and Bergin all of Lewistown; daughter Charlotte (Kirk) Dougan, children Courtney, Todd and Tim of Las Vegas, NV ; nieces Carlie Boland, Karen Hollandsworth and nephew Fred Wood; brother Larry (June); sister Pat Anderson and numerous great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters Donna Wood, Mary Jane Kellner, Marjorie Kalal and Janet Anderson Kananen; grandson Luke Alan Fry.
