James H. Childres



Memorial services for James H. Childres will be held Saturday, July 24th, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in the Wesleyan Methodist Church in Harlowton with inurnment to follow in the Harlowton Cemetery.  Cloyd Funeral Home & Cremation Service will be assisting the family with arrangements.

James H. Childres, 85 of Harlowton, MT, passed away Thursday morning, July 22, 2010 at Wheatland Memorial Nursing Home of natural causes.  He was born March 22, 1925 to parents John and Minnie (Giles) Childres in Bulter, GA.  He received his schooling in Butler, GA       graduating high school in 1943.  After high school Jim entered the United States Navy fighting in WWII and the Korean Conflict.  After 20 years of military service, he was honorably discharged in 1963.  On November 17, 1952 Jim was united in marriage to Shirley Bullock in Everett, WA.

Jim was always a very generous, devoted and loving husband, daddy and poky.  He was a good friend to all he knew and met.  Jim really enjoyed serving the Lord in every way and was an active member of his church and congregation. 

His biggest passion was music and singing.  Jim enjoyed square dancing and calling, camping, tinkering in his garage and most of all, his family.    

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Shirley Childres of Harlowton, MT, two daughters, Sandra Childres of Tucson, AZ and Brenda Dotseth of Great Falls, MT; one son, James H., Jr. of Van Horn, TX; 13 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Terrell Lee in 2002, three sisters and one baby brother.

Friends are asked to make memorials to the charity of their choice and may be left at the Cloyd Funeral Home in Lewistown.
