Ishmael J. Davis, Jr.



Services for Ishmael J. Davis, Jr. will be held at a later date.  Cremation has taken place.  Cloyd Funeral Home & Cremation Service is assisting the family with arrangements.

Ishmael J. Davis, Jr., 64 of Moore, joined the Lord peacefully and quietly, Sunday evening, July 11, 2010 at Central Montana Medical Center of natural causes.  He was born February 7, 1946 to parents Ishmael and Allie (Belle) Davis in Marshall, NC.  He received his education in North Carolina, graduating high school in 1964.  On January 25, 1973 Ishmael was united in marriage to Linda Ray in Spartenberg, South Carolina.  He worked as a butcher and baker, owning several bakery’s in North Carolina and later working as a butcher at IGA in Lewistown. 

He enjoyed hunting and fishing, time with his grandchildren, his wife dearly and worshiping the Lord. 

He is survived by his wife, Linda of Moore, MT, two sons, Ishmael (Kelly) of Lewistown, MT and Randy of Raleigh, NC; one daughter, Charity Snow of Woodruff, SC; five grandchildren, Morgan Savanna, Ishmael Dylan and Jaxan Ray all of Lewistown, MT, James McCraw of Woodruff, SC and Karrame Campbell of Spartenburg, SC; one great-grandchild, Willow Campbell of Spartenburg, SC ; two brothers, Vernon (Phyllis) of Roberta, GA and Bud (Joan) of Mars, Hill, NC; four sisters, Carol (Jim) Foreman of Rocky Ford, CO, Barbara (Jeter) Mace of West Asheville, NC, Ida (Arlyon) Chandler of Asheville, NC and Sandy (Fred) Messer of Weaverville, NC and numerous nieces, nephews, friends and hunting and fishing buddies.          

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister and brother-in-law, Joyce and Albert Rice.

Friends are asked to make memorials to the charity of their choice and may be left at the Cloyd Funeral Home.
