Alice J. Olson

Funeral Services for Alice J. Olson will be held Friday, February 19th, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in the Cloyd Chapel with interment to follow in the Lewistown City Cemetery.  Cloyd Funeral Home & Cremation Service is assisting the family.

Alice J. Olson, 65 of Lewistown, died Sunday afternoon February 14th, 2010 in the Central Montana Skilled Nursing Center of complications of Myotonic Muscular Dystrophy and Crohn’s Disease.  She was born April 1, 1944 in Lewistown the daughter of Gust and Mildred (Miller) Olson.  She attended schools in Lewistown graduating from Fergus High School in 1962, she then attended Eastern Montana College in Billings receiving her teaching degree.  She taught in Idaho Falls Idaho and then in Kennewick, WA while earning her master’s degree at Washington State College in Cheney, WA.  On May 25, 1973 she was united in marriage to George Duncan in Kennewick, WA, they later divorced.  She retired due to her health after 15 years teaching in Kennewick. 

She enjoyed reading, crossword word puzzlers, country western music and was active in her church. 

She was a member of the Retired Teachers Association of Central Montana and the Lewistown Cross Disability Association.

She is survived by her mother Mildred Olson of Lewistown, brothers Bob of Lewistown and Richard of Salem, OR and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father Gust.

Friends are asked to make memorials to the Muscular Dystrophy Association or the charity of their choice and they may be left at the Cloyd Funeral Home.

Iwas sorry to read of Alice`s passing I have known this family most of my life .Iknow my mom is up there with her , dad and Gust all listening to my dad play the accordian. My prayers are with you all now she is in no more pain Vicke

Alice was a classmate of mine...You couldn't of asked for a nicer person... and friend...i am so happy that she obtained her dream of being a teacher...I am sure she was excellent in her field....
