He grew up and went to school in Lewistown, Montana and graduated from Fergus High School in Lewistown in 1976.  In 1979, he moved to Plentywood to work in the oil fields and lived there until the time of his death.  In 1986, Mike pursued his dream of owning his own trucking business and founded the M & M Lodahl Trucking Company. His high school sweetheart and companion, Verna Turk lived with Mike for several years and they had a son, Henry. They separated in 1986. Mike was a hard worker and loved to snowmobile, hunt and go four wheeling. He had a passion for automobiles and took pride in them. He was a man who would help anyone out who needed it. Mike loved to laugh and see smiles on other people's faces and loved his sidekick (dog) Kiwi. He always signed his letters to others with "Love, Mike and Kiwi."

Mike was a member of the Sno-Travelers Snowmobile Club and also enjoyed driving in the annual Bump and Runs. He was a great Father and Grandfather, great friend and will be missed by a lot of people.

Mike is survived by his son Henry "Hank" and his wife Alisa; two grandchildren, Kaitlyn Hinkley and Owen Lodahl; his mother, Evonne Lodahl Geary all of Lewistown; his father Delmo Lodahl of Clear Lake, WI; one brother, Kim (Netzi) Lodahl of Belgrade, MT and four sisters; Terry (Cruz) Belasco of Benson, AZ, Arlene (Mark) Wichman of Hobson, MT, Susan (Robert) Twiford of Malta, MT, and Pattie Lodahl of Lewistown, MT.

I am so sorry for your loss. Mike was one of the nicest men I have ever known. He would have done anything for anybody; all you had to do was ask. I am sorry I can't attend the funeral; I would really like to be there. I am taking Joyce Littlefield out to dinner and we will have our own remembrance service here as she is unable to ride that far. Mike was a wonderful landlord and neighbor to her and she misses him so much. I will cherish the time I had with Mike forever and know that God is taking care of him now. You are in my thoughts and prayers. God bless Mike's family and friends.
