Funeral services for Mike Lodahl will be Thursday, February 4, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. at the Cloyd Chapel in Lewistown with interment to in the Lewistown City Cemetery. A public visitation will take place at Fulkerson Funeral Home in Plentywood all day on Saturday and Sunday, January 30th and 31st.
Mike D. Lodahl, 52, died Tuesday, January 26, 2010 at his home in Plentywood. Mike was born in Grenora, North Dakota on September 28, 1957, a son of Delmo and Evonne (Lee) Lodahl. He grew up and went to school in Lewistown, Montana and graduated from Fergus High School in Lewistown in 1976. In 1979, he moved to Plentywood to work in the oil fields and lived there until the time of his death. In 1986, Mike pursued his dream of owning his own trucking business and founded the M & M Lodahl Trucking Company. His high school sweetheart and companion, Verna Turk lived with Mike for several years and they had a son, Henry. They separated in 1986. Mike was married to Mary Kanning in October of 1988 and they were later divorced in February of 1996.
Mike was a hard worker and loved to snowmobile, hunt and go four wheeling. He had a passion for automobiles and took pride in them. He was a man who would help anyone out who needed it. Mike loved to laugh and see smiles on other people's faces and loved his sidekick (dog) Kiwi. He always signed his letters to others with "Love, Mike and Kiwi."
Mike was a member of the Sno-Travelers Snowmobile Club and also enjoyed driving in the annual Bump and Runs. He was a great Father and Grandfather, great friend and will be missed by a lot of people.
Mike is survived by his son Henry "Hank" and his wife Alisa; two grandchildren, Kaitlyn Hinkley and Owen Lodahl; his mother, Evonne Lodahl Geary all of Lewistown; his father Delmo Lodahl of Clear Lake, WI; one brother, Kim (Netzi) Lodahl of Belgrade, MT and four sisters; Terry (Cruz) Belasco of Benson, AZ, Arlene (Mark) Wichman of Hobson, MT, Susan (Robert) Twiford of Malta, MT, and Pattie Lodahl of Lewistown, MT.
He is preceded in death by his step father Owen Mick Geary.
