Services for Robert Anvik will be Monday, January 18th, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in Aspen View Retirement Center in Billings followed by graveside services and Inurnment at 2:30 p.m. in Terrace Gardens in Billings, MT, cremation has taken place. The Cloyd Funeral Home & Cremation Service and Smith Funeral Chapel are assisting the family.
Robert Anvik 89, passed away on January 12, 2010 in the Central Montana Medical Center in Lewistown, as a result of that dreaded ailment, Alzheimer's. Robert was born December 10, 1920 to Ommund and Ingeborg (Gjerde) Anvik on a farm near Fairview, MT. He graduated from Fairview High School in 1940 and went to Santa Monica, California to work in the defense plants. He then entered the Air Force where he was a flying instructor teaching flying the T9 to students from China, Brazil and Free France - until the war was over. In May, 1948, Bob and Dorothy Korpondinos were united in marriage and moved to Sidney, MT to open a dry cleaning plant. A son, Steven, was born to this union in 1955. From 1961-1985, Bob was in heavy equipment sales in Colorado and Montana. Dorothy and Bob were later divorced.
Robert Anvik was united in marriage to Vivian Luptak on June 7, 1986 in Billings, MT where they made their home. Robert is survived by his wife Vivian Anvik of Billings, son Steven (Lori) Anvik of Modesto, CA, and one daughter Lisa Anvik of Casper, WY; one sister Margaret Kaiser of Laurel, MT.; numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers: Otto, Clifford, Arnold, Melvin, Elmer and Arthur; and three sisters, Christine Martin, Ann Sloan and Arlene Monson.
The family wishes to extend their deepest respect to Dr. Moore and the Entire Staff at the Montana Mental Health Nursing Care Center in Lewistown, MT for their incredible care - and caring, for Bob. Memorial
In lieu of flowers memorials are requested to the Alzheimer’s Association, Scottish Rite Children’s Fund or the charity of their choice and they may be left at the Cloyd Funeral Home in Lewistown or the Smith Funeral Chapel in Billings.
