Bruce W. Griffith

Funeral services for Bruce Griffith will be held Monday, August 1st, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. in the Cloyd Chapel with interment to follow in the Lewistown City Cemetery.  Cloyd Funeral Home & Cremation Service is assisting with arrangements.

Bruce Griffith, 87 of Grass Range, died Tuesday morning, July 26th at Valle Vista Manor of natural causes.  He was born January 16, 1924 in Lewistown, MT to parents Lewis and Olive (Ayers) Griffith.  He graduated from Grass Range High School in 1942.  On September 23, 1948 Bruce was united in marriage to Gracia MacIntosh in Lewistown.  He worked many jobs over the years; as an independent trucker, for Fergus County Creamery, A.A. Clark General Store, Fergus County Road Dept. and retired from Montana Department of Transportation in 1984.  After retirement he enjoyed working on the family ranch near Grass Range. 

He was a member of many clubs but was an active member of Anna Smalley Chapter Order of Eastern Star, Big Sky Lions, Moose Lodge #1239,  the Masonic Lodge.

He is survived by two sons, Lewie (Florence) and Doug (Deb) all of Grass Range; 2 grandchildren, Marisa and Tom and numerous nieces and nephews  

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Gracia, two sisters, Ida Vahl and Doris Phlean and two brothers, Tom and Donnie.

Friends are asked to make memorials to the Grass Range Ambulance Fund or the charity of their choice and may be left at the Cloyd Funeral Home.

Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you. While we can't be there for the services, you will be in our prayers. Bruce and Gracia were always so willing to include us as part of their family. They were both special people and will be missed. We are hoping to see all of you soon.

Lewie & Flo, Doug, Deb, Marisa & Tom, we won't be back in time for the funeral. We are in Cody right now. but know that our thoughts are with you. Bruce was a special person and will be missed by many.

Happy Trails Lion Bruce. It was nice to have known you and Florence. I was a fellow Lion in Roundup and enjoyed our few times together. God Speed. and condolences for Florence and family.

Lewie, Florence, Deb, Doug and family. so sorry to hear about Bruce. He was a great man and loved by many people. i will always remember family functions and his smiling face. Wish i could have been around to see him more in the last few years! Thinking of you all!
